Keyboard shortcuts
Use shortcuts for common actions while the Ziva dock or main screen tab is focused. Click inside Ziva first. When you return to another Godot panel, its keyboard input stays with Godot. Voice input is the exception: it works anywhere in the Godot editor.
| Action | Windows and Linux | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Toggle chat sidebar | Ctrl+B | Cmd+B |
| Open model picker | Ctrl+Shift+M | Cmd+Shift+M |
| New chat | Ctrl+N | Cmd+N |
| Open Ziva settings | Ctrl+, | Cmd+, |
| Voice input | Ctrl+Shift+Space | Cmd+Shift+Space |
Shortcuts also work from the message box and while the chat sidebar is open. Close other dialogs, such as Settings or a confirmation, before using a shortcut. New chat does not stop another chat’s running task.
Voice input
- Hold the voice input shortcut while you talk, then let go. Or tap it once to start and again to stop.
- Press Esc to discard the recording.
- Review the text Ziva adds to the message box, then send it.
Change a shortcut
- Open Settings, then Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Click the key combination beside an action and press your preferred combination. Include Ctrl, Cmd, or Alt.
- Press Esc to cancel.
A combination can belong to only one action.
Click Clear to disable one shortcut. Click Reset all shortcuts to restore the defaults for your operating system.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens.
- Click inside Ziva and close any open dialog other than the chat sidebar.
- Check that the shortcut is assigned in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Use the modifier shown in settings and release any extra keys.
Voice input does not start from another Godot panel. Click inside the Godot editor window first. It does not work while your running game has focus.
The operating system handles the combination first. Choose a different combination. System shortcuts may never reach Ziva.
A shortcut says it is already assigned. Clear or change the named action first, then record the combination again.
Keyboards with AltGraph or an input method
Shortcuts are ignored while an input method is composing text, such as while choosing a character, and when AltGraph is active. Finish entering the text and release AltGraph before trying the shortcut again.
