Usage limit best practices
Small, clear requests help you get more done with your Ziva allowance. Check Rate Limits for your account’s current access and remaining usage.
What are Usage Limits?
Your allowance covers the cost of hosted AI requests, not a fixed number of messages. The model you choose, the length of the conversation, and the amount of project material it reads all affect usage. Paid plans have higher allowances.
Rate Limits by Plan
Weekly and monthly limits are measured in USD of model usage, not a per-message price.
| Plan | Weekly Limit | Monthly Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | $3 | $3 |
| Basic | $20 | $60 |
| Pro | $50 | $150 |
| Ultra | $200 | $600 |
Reset Cycles
Paid-plan monthly limits reset on the monthly anniversary of when your subscription began. Annual subscriptions are billed yearly, but their usage still resets monthly on that anniversary. Weekly paid-plan limits reset every seven days from the subscription start date. Check your account for Hobby allowances.
Hobby normally resets at 5 PM in your account’s timezone: weekly on Monday and monthly on the first day of the month. If you previously subscribed, your monthly reset stays on your subscription anniversary. Check Rate Limits for your exact reset dates and remaining allowance.
Basic trials use the normal Basic limits; the first successful payment starts a new usage window.
Complimentary access appears in Rate Limits. Contact support if expected access is missing.
Best Practices
1. Plan Your Conversations
Keep one request about one small feature. Group closely related steps, rather than asking for your whole game at once: “Add left-right movement and jumping to my 2D player. Use the arrow keys and Space.”
2. Be Specific and Concise
Say what should happen and check the request before sending. For example: “When the player collects a coin, increase the counter by one. Don’t change the movement controls.”
3. Pick the Right Model
Use a lower-cost model for small changes or explanations. Consider a more capable model for difficult tasks. Check the selected model’s price before sending.
4. Keep Changes Focused
You do not need to organize code yourself. Ask Ziva: “Keep this change small and focused. Only read or change the parts needed for the coin counter.” Large files and unrelated material can use more allowance.
5. Start Fresh Chats for New Topics
Start a new chat when you move to an unrelated task. Long histories include earlier conversation in later requests, which can use more allowance. Give the new chat the information it needs, such as which scene you want to change.
